is beautiful! It is a town in the mountains just beyond the city - a sort of weekend retreat for those who can hack it. We stayed at a nice hotel with yummy food. The mornings were spent having tea and chatting on the terrace and the afternoons seeing the sights. I should note that the newspapers here are great ... I was suprised to see such great reporting in English - again I am a product of my environment and for some reason thought the press might be less open - or perhaps that only those outside the country were capable of identifying the challenges this country faces (JK). WRONG - they know the problems and the press (at least) does a good job of presenting the contending perspectives on how to move forward.
Pakistan has such diversity in terms of environment. In just an hour we were away from the heat of the city and in the cool clouds above it all. A warning - be prepared for the drive if you ever go. The winding narrow roads going up the mountain can be terrifying to climb! On a number of occasions we were required to back-track a bit to allow a huge truck to push through ... or to make room for the occasional oxen that decided to have their midday nap in the street.
Enjoy the photos - I am a bit sad that I will be leaving this great country soon.
